So I goto this dealership today to test drive a Mustang GT they had there (2001 with 55k miles). The Mustang was a piece of shit but they had a couple other cars on the lot that I wanted to test drive. I wasn't happy with any of them but I ran into a pretty little Neon SXT. I've never been a fan of Neons but I decided to test drive it anyway since I was there.
Just sitting down in it was absolutely comfortable. I'm 5'9" 160lbs. and I fit in the driver's seat like a champ. The transmission is so smooth that shifting felt almost like an automatic. Everything in this car is great. I look down at the mileage, 4300.
I drive it back and ask more information. 2005, black paint, 4k miles on it, but they wanted 15k for it. See, I'm a nice guy. So I don't do well with car dealers. My mother is a bitch. I told them I was going to get some lunch and come back, went and got her.
Bought it for 12k late in the evening. I told her there was almost no gas in the car and it was dirty, so maybe I should come back. She gave me an "IOU" from the dealer for a tank of gas and a clean up job that I will be cashing in on Monday morning before my surgery.
If you want them that badly, I'll take a couple pictures when I get up tomorrow, but I will definately post pictures Monday after it's all cleaned up.
It's teh sexay. Makes me look better.

so you went from checking out mustang gts to buy a neon....

12k for a neon SXT? for that price you could have gotten an SRT4. Also like said before how did you got from a mustang GT to a neon?
Those neons are very comfortable cars though. The first time i was in an SXT is really took me by suprise how it seemed to fit around me. The seats are one of the best parts IMO.
Glad your happy.

Yeah, but think about it....needing your Mommy to negotiate for you
Not to mention, market value on the car is closer to $11,500

The Mustangs they had went as follows:
2001 V6 Mustang: hood wouldn't stay shut. I'm guessing it was in a front end collision.
1997 Mustang GT: nice car, but had 110k miles on it.
1998 Mustang GT: as above but only 95k miles on it.
1996 Mustang Cobra: loved driving this car, but then I realized my insurance would go through the roof and it had a shit ton of miles on it. It was hard to part with this one.
True, the Mustangs were cheaper, but with 4k miles on the Neon, the comfort, and the look I couldn't really refuse it. I had to get out of the car I was in. Look at it this way:
Two weeks ago I was just like Jim Carey's character in Bruce Almighty.
"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I have no bird! I have no bush! God has taken my bird and my bush!"
Now tomorrow I'm getting my Lasik done, I have a car that I think is sexy and fun to drive, it has the audio package in it (the dealership didn't know, I found out when I got home, popped the trunk to put tools in it and saw a ten inch sub), and I'm happy with it. I bought a pretty little bush, now all I need is a bird to come sit in it.
If anyone here has photoshop and the ability to blur license plates send me a message, unless it really doesn't matter if you see my plate. I don't care, but everyone else does it so I wonder if it actually is important to blur them online. I'll give you some dirty pictures tonight, and clean ones on Monday, cuz I'm that nice of a day.
And freakray, I know what you're saying, and I feel stupid for it, but I've never bought from a dealership until yesterday, but now I know what to do, and won't need her anymore. I'm happy she came and got me the price, otherwise my payments would be very hard to pay every month with my income as a preschool teacher.

Theres no real need to blur out your liscence plate, mainly because its no different from people seeing it on the street. I honestly have no idea why people think that since they post it on the internet, its any different from people seeing it everyday when you drive..

Yeah that's my view on it... I guess the only difference is that online you can keep the photo or alter it or whatever... I just don't get it. Let me dig around for my digital camera and I'll have pictures up in a few hours.

aren't some neons stupidly quick? i heard an SRT-4 can run low 13s or something, anyone confirm this?
nice deal on it, glad you got what you wanted. i've always liked the neon design. cars are better when they fit the driver. the golf in my sig fits me like nothing else, but it's my dad's and i dont think i'll ever get it.

the srt-4 I've personally seen beat a WRX (not an STi) with ease in the quarter mile. 230hp and very light weight. I consider it a death trap though.

That just opens up a list of questions from here:
Was the WRX a auto?
Could the guy drive?
Was the SRT-4 making 230hp at the flywheel or at the wheels?
You do realise the SRT-4 is a bigger engine than a WRX?
Did the WRX driver hang his head in shame?

my car could beat your car andrew. yes, i have no car. :p
I would have went with the Mustangs and I hate them all the way back to the 70's. Something bout the neons. As discussed before, it's the drivers that surround the type of carbut neons are worse than civics. BUt im sure you'll do it justice! as for me, im about to start main $50,000 a year plus my current job so I'll be lookin' for something...just not sure whether i want a fixer upper or new car.

Go for a new car. You've been going to school for a long time, it's time to reward yourself. And by new car, I mean 2-5 years old, don't get it brand new.

dont like domestics and i'll barely be able to afford insurance on a reg car right a long a brand new camaro. ive had 2 wreckless driving tickets and a almost wreckless driving ticket. That aint good.
i'm thinkin celica, supra, prelude, something older that once was and when i found them i couldn;t afford them whether initially or to build them back up. this way, i can. not immediately, but faster than 20 grand a year.
heck, for all i know thatll be goin to my new home depending on when my 'rents leave.

No, my friend Jack is a horrible driver, but don't underestimate the SRT-4.
Yes, I know that the SRT-4 has a larger engine.
No, Jack did what Jack does and told everyone he won.

Before I post the clean pictures of Tenkuu (car's name), let me tell you the things I've learned from getting this surgery done.
1.) When they say "You may experience a little discomfort" that translates to "This is going to hurt worse than anything you've ever felt before"
2.) Tell your Doctor if your eye isn't completely numb yet when they start the surgery... I didn't, wish I did.
3.) Dark, dark, dark sunglasses. Like the darkest pair you can find, isn't enough.
4.) Slowly adjust yourself to light the night before you wake up, otherwise you're in for shock.
5.) Last night, for the first time in my entire life, I looked up at the night sky, and saw the stars with my own eyes perfectly. I saw my new car, I saw my hands, my arms, everything seemed new and wonderful. All the pain in the world couldn't take that experience away from me. Would I reccomend it to just anyone? HELL NO. You really have to want it like I did, otherwise don't get through with it, it hurts ALOT.
Anyways on with the car pictures. It was early in the morning and for half of them the flash was still on, I'm sure you can tell the difference.
