Best way to remove excess glue?

I am making a model of a 2002 Camaro SS. I'm not an avid model maker, but I have made maybe a dozen or so. Anyway, this model is important to me, as I am trying to make it look exactly like my Camaro. So I'm about 99% done, and I have to glue the rearview mirror to the windshield. My tube of Testors had kind of dried glue at the top, and instead of getting up and getting something to wipe it off with, I did the lazy thing and just tried to push the glue out. Way too much came out (not much is needed for the rearview mirror) and it got stuck all over the windshield. I got a lot of it off before it dried, but the rest dried up and looks like crap. Any ideas how to get it off, or at least make it look better? Thanks.

I heard mineral oil can rub the clouding that cement fumes off of clear plastic, but I don't know it if will work with actual glue streaks. You may have to sand the stuff off, but you can polish the glass to look clear again.

For future reference, 'glass' and cement do not mix well. CA/superglue either. Use something like epoxy or Super Tacky Glue to attach parts to clear plastic.

dont use any hard stuff on glass parts like white spirit etc,if you have glue on the windshield try to sand it of starting with 400 and ending with 3000,do this under a tap keeping it wet all the time.After this is complete use Johnsons future floor wax and it should shine like new,thats what i do maybe someone else has a better idea.

I've to agree with Raceman, I had a similar problem with tamy extra thin cement which was hi-aggressive with the 250 calif. windhild: just sand (well I advise to start by 1000 grit to 4/8000) and simpy polish it, than wax it, I made it succesfully. Only take your tome, I guess you need not less than a couple of hour or more.

Thanks, I'll try the sanding/polishing method. I was really hoping there was some kind of solvent. I'll let you know how it turns out.
