I bent the lower metal plate that the strut connects to on the rear driver's side, does anyone know how to fix it? and how to put in a new strut?
I didn't see a pot-hole(sink-hole's more like it :banghead: ) till it was to late, cost me a tire, that plate, and a strut (broke it in half).
I have a 94 camaro V6.
any help would be appreciated.

Your talking about the lower mount that the spring seats into right??? If so, you cant fix that. you need a new strut.

just try to bend it back in place... i'm assuming you're talking about the place that the shock mounts to the rear axle... that doesn't come off, you'll either have to bend it, cut it off and weld on a new one, or get a new rear axle... replacing the rear shock is simple enough... lean the back seats forward, lift up the carpet, you'll see two places right behind the seats that have a yellow foam covering on top of them, take off that foam, put an alan key in the center of the nut, and turn the nut with a wrench to get it off... then just put the new one in there and tighten it

It doesn't matter anymore I dont have a torch so I took it to my mech. and he is going to bend it back and put in a new shock. and how do you un-bolt the shock from the lower mount?
