but for the record you should be running 10-30 or 10-40. Anything thicker or thinner fucks with the VTEC solonoid, and can affect its engagment times.

OOpppsss....I bought Mobil 1 5w - 50 w

How can it affect VTEC when VTEC only engages when the motor is warm????????

ROFLMAO @ Chuck's first post :D :D :D :D

Chuck - I run Mobil 1 5-50 in the SiR - always have. It's what all the B series engines are running in Oz from what I can see - even my brother's ITR was running it.

yes we are running Mobil 1 in our vtecs too. :p

my cousin runs shell helix in his suzuki baleno, and it runs fine, but tends to burn quickly....

but with the way he drives...I'm not suprised.

I used to use caltex magnatec in my 3rd gen, and mum uses it in her civic....really good for non vtec engines...get real good fuel economy on it. I remember changing from gtx2 to magnatec, and I'd be getting an extra 100 - 150 kms out of a tank!

Maybe if I only put two litres in I'll save 2.4 Kgs. And my VTEC will still work because of my controller.............
