ford thunderbird

I need to know if I can take a 4.6 motor from a 1991 Grand Marquis and put it in a 1988 Ford Thunderbird, will I have to change anything to make this work? Thanks, dmathews

The only vehicle to have the 4.6 in 91 was the Lincoln Town Car. The Crown Vic and Grand Marquis got it in 92. If its out of a 91 Grand Marquis it's the 5.0 and should go in with no major diffuculties if it's going into a V8 Bird. The 4.6 on the other hand, is definately NOT a bolt in swap, nothing is the same between the motors (bellhousing, electronics, mounts, etc.)
