Hello Boschmann, If your still answering questions I would appreciate your diognostic skills on this one. 96 jetta gls 2.0 quits running with a small pop sound. Coast into gas station. I replaced coil 1 year ago, they say it;s the distributor. they replace it, car now runs but idels horriblely and has no power. brought it back said check the timming they did said it's good needs fuel injectors #1 is bad by the codes. It idle was 95% good before this distributor I don't see how this could be anything but the timeing since cables have been checked. Thoughts? Thanks

when the distributor is replaced the timing is not effected unless the intermediate shaft is moved.

if the idle was good before the dist. was replaced now its bad they either have a bad distributor or the timing is off.
