When was the last time you donated blood? I gave yesterday. I donate every 16 weeks, two units of red cells. Lots of people out there need blood now.:2cents:

^They will type your blood. They take what they can get, doesn't really matter what type. http://www.unitedbloodservices.org

I can't donate blood because I was born in Europe.

I know they ask a bunch of questions that will disqualify you from donating, there are too many to remember. Have you ever been to an african country, had sex with the same sex, tatoos within a certain time etc. They can only turn you away, they won't kill you and eat you, it's worth a shot.

if you've even just been out of the country at all within like the past 8 months or something, no matter what country, they don't let you donate blood. i'm not surprised that being born in a different country can disqualify you permanentally.
i've given blood a couple times, not recently though, and i've given...well, sold my plasma too. that's a pretty cool operation

I give blood every four months cause thats how often they come to where I work. The last time I gave, a really hot blond RN did it. If I had that kind of eye candy everytime, I would give every 56 days like I should.:evillol:

^Yeah, we got the same deal at work. A big RV comes around 3-4 times a year. Since I fit some profile they take two units of red cells, and I can't give for 16 weeks (I think) after. As far as being born in another country, IDK. The big no no's are from Africa. I was out of country (it was only Canada though) recently and it didn't disqualify me.

I have an extreme fear of needles, but I've donated a few times. Gotta get me prepped before hand, otherwise I run away.

i'm too young and idk i would like to donate but i don't do needles well at all. i bruise and it bleeds. i'm trying to tell myself the person without any blood at all is probably in more pain than i am and i should do it to help them out.

I was injured in the Navy a couple of years ago and needed a transfusion so I could be stabilized and flown to an aircraft carrier, then to a shore hospital. Thanks to all the people who donate, it's a simple thing that saves lives.
