I'm curious about what you mean by your comment that the Amsoil filter really worked. I have cut my last three Toyota filter and examined them and found no problems indicating I should use another filter. Did your engine run better due the the Amsoil filter, was the oil cleaner when drained? All oils are not the same, full synthetic oils have a better temperature resistance than conventional oil. That said, any good name brand oil meeting API service SM is adequate for your engine unless your driving conditions generate extremely high oil temperatures, in that case synthetic oil may help.

Purolator filters and whatever name brand oil is on-sale. Change it regularly, and it doesn't matter!!!

clitfon my bad i ment the air filter. im just saying quality of amsoil is well to me great, but im wonderin if the same principle works for oil. for oil filters i use pure one filters. i dont know why but i just trust it.

Thanks, that make more sense. Pure one oil filters are a good after-market filter.

If you have questions about oil and lubrication go over to bitog http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php and you will have more info than you will ever need. I have run Amsoil 10w-30 in my Tacoma and am currently running Mobil 1 5w-30. From what I have seen with UOA's Toyota motors really do well on Mobil 1. Any good synthetic will do well in your taco though imho.
