Does anyone know if it is possible to install and after market radio into a 2002 buick lesabre? I found a wiring harness, and dash kit, but i have read some places that if you install it, you will lose some functions. does anyone know? thank you

The functions you may have heard of are the steering wheel controls if you have them equipped. The tuner/ volume steering wheel controls will not work with an aftermarket stereo. Other than that, everything should work out ok. However, if you decide to reinstall your factory unit, you might have to get a code for it to work again (this is an anti-theft feature)

They are running door chimes and other audible signals through the radio now. You WILL lose functions if you go to aftermarket and don't get special 'modules' to replace the lost functionality. A warning though: those modules aren't too reliable.
Just go to www.replacementradios.com (http://www.replacementradios.com). You'll find brand new factory original CD/Cass combos for that vehicle for less than $200.
