OK, last year, I had the thermstat replaced and intake manifold gasket replaced. the radiator is full of coolant. but sometimes after driving a while, i hear a bubbling noise and lift the hood, and the coolant is boiling up into the reservoir. my gauge says overheating, but there is plenty of coolant. Help?

your thermostat might be stuck or getting stuck.

If you drive over 30mph and it does not over heat it is not a fan problem.
It is probably a stuck thermostat. Flush the cooling system if replacing
the thermostat. Possible debris in cooling system sticking thermostat.
It may even be the start of a head gasket problem.

do you have that spoiler under the car that diverts air into the engine compartment when you are in motion?

He is talking about the black plastic air dam that mounts right under the radiator.
When I first got my camaro, this was missing and the result was overheating... Make shure yours is there :grinyes:

well, i went and looked under my car, and saw that the air dam is missing. i'm gonna get another one, but where exactly does it go? does it mount in front of and right under the radiator?

Yes.
There is one here that ends in about 3+1/2 hours

But you could probably get a better deal at a salvage yard.

there should be some mounting holes under there if your unsure of where to put it. :sunglasse yeah and THEN see if it overheats..

the fact that the water is overheating and boiling up... tells me that you have a pressure leak of some kind in the system, because w/out pressure the water won't stay water, it will start to evaporate... i don't think its an air dam... i mean that might make it run kinda hot, but it couldn't make the water boil, because if the system is kept under pressure, the water can't boil. i think you have a pressure leak somewhere

how could i find the leak?

how much water is in the coolant system compared to the amount of radiator fluid? You could throw a new radiator capon it. Is your engine running rough at all? especially at a low idle?

To find the leak rent a pressure tester at autozone. Its only like $10 for a week or something.
