Pulling a crankshaft pulley

I'm walking my way through the steps to replace a camshaft position sensor on a 99 Rodeo. It looks like I have to pull the crankshaft pulley in order to remove the timing belt cover. Do I just take off the 4 small bolts and slide it off? Or do I have to 'break' it loose somehow? Also, the electrical plug on top of the engine seems strange, sunken down and hard to grip. Any tips on how to unplug? Thanks.

The 4 bolts hold the outer pulley on the balancer, there is a single, much larger bolt that holds the balancer on. You will need a large breaker bar, place it on the bolt and lay the other end on top of the frame, drivers side disable the ignition system and bump the starter to break the bolt loose. The pulley should be able to be wiggled off.

Great. Thanks Cat. Anything tricky about disabling the ignition? All this, just to change a part smaller than my palm that cost damn near $200.

I'm not sure how to do it on a 99. My 94 is different. Anyone else know?
