I have an 89 suburban with no brakes. About 2 weeks ago the brakes started to slowly fail, to the point where i could step on the brakes and it would barely stop. I kept a close eye on the fluid, and it never lost any... furthermoe, it rarey fired off the low brake pressure light...
So im thinking ok blown master cylinder.... so i went down and got a new one, bench bled it and threw it in.... still no brakes... so i bled the system.... a total of 5 times... and ive run 64 ounces of fluid though it.... there are no leaks... it must also be noted that all my bleeder screws are totally rusted... so i have to bleed the brakes from the line connections at the back of the calipers/wheel cylinders. After all the bleedings and changing the master, the brakes are the same that they were before, on the first pump of the pedal it will barely stop, if i pump it several times eventually it will lock the wheels...

This is an 89 suburban, and i only need to get the brakes to work untill spring before im going to take the truck to the junkyard... anyone have any easy solutions to this problem that dont involve getting all new calipers, wheel cylinders and brake lines?? Im just not willing to spend that kind of money on a truck that im going to throw away in a few months anyway

HELP!!!

If you have bench bled the master cylinder correctly and it has no air internally and you then bled the entire system and it has no air in the lines, I would think the only other item to look at is the brake booster (vaccum booster). But I think even if the booster fails you should get a decent pedal even without the truck running. If you also say no fluid leaks then its a hard call. My guess is that the system has air in the lines or in the master cylinder still. Can you remove the bleeders? IF so I would replace them and get a friend to help you and bleed the system again.

I did end up bleeding my truck a number of times when I had a similar problem. I think its going to be hard to bled the system without the bleeders working? (correctly)

What is the adjustment like on the rear brakes? Are they adjusted properly? This is something that I would check.
