I have a 2001 LS V8 and have heard this is a common problem and nothing you can really be done about it. The airbag light keeps coming on. It blinks then comes on full until I turn the car off. Then it won't come on at all for awhile. I think it has finally gone away and it reappears again. Doesn't seem to be any reason why.The dealer said the only thing to do is replace the whole wiring harness, which it expensive and not worth it. He also said the airbag system is working, no codes, etc. Anyone have this same problem or perhaps some solution that doesn't cost a fortune.??

Do any of your steering functions work like the cruise, volume controls or even your turn signal? If not, then it sounds like the clock spring may be bad.

Sounds like if your cruise and other steering wheel functions work, you should have the wiring under te driver's seat inspected.

I have a 2002 LS8 And mine would flash three time in three sets of three then stay on. Turned out to be a Clock spring. Good luck

Airbag light was on/off/on etc. After several trips to the DEALERSHIP they found a loose wire under the passenger seat. The cause was empty water bottle bouncing around. Forward 1 year, airbag light on, checked under seat, water bottle. A little plug tightening stopped the problem. Good luck

I had to replace the plug and harness under the drivers seat. The easy entry feature rocked the wires till the fell apart. there was a quick fix kit available from the dealer. you should inspect the two wires to the yellow plug under both seats. Mine were bad right at the plug.
