On the buick Regal, 1991, 3800 tuned port injecton.
You have the air intake on the drivers side, and you have the steel fuel lines (silver), going to the back of the fuel rail (black). you have a black box approx 1/4 to 1/2 an inch away from the maf/tps unit (were the air intake goes into). There are 4 or 5 vacuum lines coming off of it. One line goes to the brake booster on the firewall, one goes to some egr-kinda looking thing on the transmisson, and two or three other lines going were-ever else. There is one 10 mm bolt holding this unit down to the manifold. I found out all of my problems are caused by this box. the seal underneath cracked and leaked, and the hose going from the box to the egr looking thing on the transmission cracked on the box. Its funny how something so small can make you scratch your head and run in circles trying to diagnose your problems... IF one of you could name this I'd be so appreciative, because the only name i can come up with, is distrobution box.. and that doesnt sound right.
Now this picture isnt of my exact engine, but it should help to show you what i mean

Go to the junk yard and get a new vacuum block or get some epoxy and seal the block up where the crack is.

Im trying that, lol. I tried using insta-gasket to no provail, and expoxy didnt work, nor did a combination of both. Were u have the one hose going to the transmission, its cracked right were the end of the nipple is. No, go, but thank you, I'll go get a vacuum block. Damn that name almost sounds to simple. haha.
Thanks
