There was an article in Honda Tuning Magazine about legalizing JDM automobiles a while back... Dont remember which issue it was tho... It wasnt easy from what I remember...

Why do people just let their seat bolsters just go to crap? If you take some thick thread and sew it up a bit, then put 3M black/threaded tape over it seals it decent enough so that it doesn't go to crap anymore than it already is... not sure about leather though. They do sell leather patch kits though... remember those infomercials. Oh yeah, I'm loving that ghetto intake...

yeah thats quite rare! emil is right its a lil expensive but having a glass top on a rex would make any honda enthusiast jealous! man i wonder how many yrs it would take me to get use to RHD lol sum1 meantioned $900 shipped usd.. damn u sure u dont mean $1900.. the cheapest i seen was $1800 to have a car shipped here from Japan. CivicSpoon... im sure you can find a glass company who can custom make that glass roof for u..im sure it will cost a arm and a leg for sure!!!

Homemade metal non-insulated roof is the shizziblit... :grinno:
There was a post not long ago with a link to a glasstop fab job. The guy said that basically all CRX roofs are the same configuration up until the dome-light on the back and above the visors on the front. He pretty much cut out the welds of what was in between and laid the glass top in place with adhesive stuff.

Like I said glass top is very nice and with my new CRX if I'll get some money extra I'll buy one of those and fit on my CRX, no problem about cutting roof cause roll bar is goin in so there we'll be no problem fitting that roof, but they sure are expencive :0(

You really dont have to cut the structure of the car all that much, it fits right where the roof panel went...it actually makes the car stiffer too!

I don't see how it would make the car stiffer... especially like that guy who used adhesive. I'm sure that's some strong stuff. But somehow I think welded metal is more sturdy. I used rivets to connect sheetmetal to cover my sunroof hole and used bondo layers over the connecting parts and I'd say it's pretty sturdy but the sheetmetal still is pliable, so I will not be standing on my roof any time soon. I think Emil has the right idea about the roll bars... welded right?
BTW, Frodo, your car is clean.

Youd be surprized... I recently changed out my sunroof, and couldnt help but notice how flimzy the metal roof was without the sunroof in there... It literally moved when I pushed in on it, kinda like a CF hood when you wash it (how it flexes)...
But think of it this way, thin sheet metal < thick peice of glass...

Yop it'll be welded FIA aproved roll bar and I'll do the stitch welding also it'll be rally prepaired car, I wanted to do that with a civic but it's already stretched where between passenger cabin and engine bay...not good :0( that is why I'm goin' hard core with the CRX all by the book, so car will be a lot stiffer and will be reacting a lot quicker on the road and track...
But the car will have all interior and everything else not goin' with gutted interior had that and don't like it ;0)

It's stiffer because that glass is about an inch thisck and has titanium layers embedded in it. Have you ever removed one of our fenders? They weigh about 1/2 lb. and you could crumple one into a ball....

You're right the glass is stiffer than metal roof, but you're missing one important factor, roof is welded to chasiss and that glass is barelly "glued" on the roof structure, so there you got the conclusion what is stiffer weld or "glue" ;0)
