OK I am back again. Another problem with my '94 JGC with the 5.2L V8 motor. I have been starting to have a starting problem that has been intermittent now for a few days. Sometimes when you either hit the automatic starter remote ( that I had installed a few years ago ) or turn the key in the ignition you get a CLICK and thats it. Then try again and either CLICK or it will start up fine. I have cleaned the terminals on the battery, had the battery checked and is fine. Now my question is :

Do you think the starter has a dead spot on it causing the problem?

Does the '94 JGC have an external solenoid switch or is it like chevys that have it mounted on the side and on the starter itself?

Is there something I am forgetting?

The key switch on the column is fine. B/C When I use the remote starter it bypasses the switch.

There is a lot of snow on the ground here in NY and I have not climbed under it to look yet. Also I do not have a garage either...........BBBBbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrr.

Thanks guys and gals........

no garage , freezing temps , old car = battery , tested or not ....or possibly corrosion on the power cable where it attaches to the starter ,,,,,, my guess

I agree.
Check the Wires to the Starter, if there clean and tight, I would get a new battery.

OK the snow is finally gone so I did some troubleshooting on my starter on the 94 JGC. Found the battery fine ( only 6 months old anyway ), Relay on box on the right side engine area fine, battery connections new. Climbed under and tried to start with remote start being used. The starter had power to it but would only click. Tapped the starter while clicking and it started. Figured out the starter was bad. Called around and found a wide variety of prices. It was anywhere from $179.00 to $118.00. Well you can guess which one I took. The $118.00 was at AUTOBARN here on Long Island. Installed it in only 15 minutes. Tried after installing and works fine. What a difference. It even sounds better then the old one before it messed up. Thanks again for all the inputs............
