Pinks!! New Pinks Feb.22!!

I can't wait til next Wed. when the new Pinks starts!! Looks like they're going to have more Mustangs, Firebirds, and Camaros!! I hope they don't have cars like that piece of crap 1920's Ford that was on the first season. NO, not all 1920's cars are crap, but if you saw that car it was crap! I also hope they don't have those stupid go-carts or motorcycles. I love to drive go-carts and ride motorcycles, I just don't want to watch them race, sorry...they're not as fun to watch as cars.

The #1 thing I hope they don't have is "lengths". How stupid is that?! By doing that one car is not running a full 1/4mile. I also hope they don't have the host (forget his name) start the race. That is why they had problems when some cars left early/or not. If they would use the tree they could just bracket race (for lengths) and also to see if someone redlights. Using the tree just eliminates both problems.

i watched that show when i was in SC, its pretty kool. whats wrong with giving cars extra car length's? that races uneven almost every time

What's wrong with giving lengths is that the car with the "head start" is not running exactly 1/4mile. Some cars are set up perfectly for the 1/4, not 5-20 car lengths short of that. I know it doesn't sound like much but it is on some cars. If they're going to do that, they should just use the tree, it would eliminate all of those problems.

Pinks is stupid, no trees and half the time the cars cant even compete with each other heads up, its all on your negotiating skills.

I agree, they should find cars that can go against each other heads up. But that is probably easier said than done. I know we can think of atleast 20 cars at our local track or around town that could go heads up, however would they be willing to give up their car if they lost?

Sorry Mr. Luos, you know I had to give ya crap with the whole Firebird VS. Mustang thing. I love the looks and performance of the newer Firebirds AND THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE A PUSHROD ENGINE LIKE A MUSCLE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE! But they just don't have any room to work under the hood like the Mustang does, unless you have a Cobra then it's pretty tight in there to.

Don't get me wrong guys, I know the 4.6 is getting better but I just don't like having 2 cams and chains sets. I know, I know, less moving parts with no pushrods and we're supposed to advance with technology. But why does the 4.6 up to 04 only have 260hp and 300hp in 05 and 06 AND THEY HAD TO ADD AN EXTRA VALVE (more moving parts) TO GET 300??!! Ford could've kept the 5.0 and 5.8 and used SVT parts to get 300hp EASILY 10 years ago. Who knows how much horse today!

I just like GM for keeping an engine that has proven itself for over 50 years and improving on that.

I thought that punk Brian Leaf (who lost) got what he deserved!! Taking a win on the first run because the other guy had some gas come out of his tank during the burnout!!! That was a cheap win!!! Then Brian broke his drive shaft and the other guy took that as a win. What goes around comes around!!! In the end the good guy won!!! Tobad I can't remember his name though!

Yeah just like the host said its a chicken sh!t way to win and it always comes back to haunt you. And the winning guy even said that he wouldve given him more time if he wouldnt have take the first win.

I heard about the new episode. Brian leaf was actually supposed to race another guy and at the last minute they called justin in cuz the other guy chickened out. Had briaN on one of the local radio shows yesterday and he was saying how he was tkaing a win for the whole gas thing because a win is a win. Its a lil unfair on justins side, e has more national ford shootout championships and experience with mustangs than the law should allow for someone his age. His whole shop actually pretty much shut down while they were building that car. It actually took him about 5 days to get his car together. Although if I had the funds to build a ten second car in 10 days I would. I think jpc was actually one of the first shops to get the 05 gt's into the 10's. I remember seeing them test and tune a few times at one of the local tracks. Man that thing was bad ass.

Yeah, I know they showed it 4 times.....I watched'em all!!!! I loved the way Justin (the winner) launched on the first run!!! Each time I watched it I knew what was going to happen but, I still found myself saying "common, go, go, go and laughing when Brian (THE LOSER) broke his drive shaft.

Hey Sky, long time no......type. Haven't seen you in here in awhile. Last time I brought up this show I thought you said you couldn't get SPEED channel over there? So what did you think of it?

Its pretty cool, although the format for the racing is pretty dumb.

Yeah, the format is pretty dumb, but it was fun watching Justin Burcham bust that guy's azz. Funnier still was everyone talking about Justin "playing" with the guy, looks to me like he won the succeeding races by simpy not wheelstanding the car (although that was freakin' cool) and getting it down the track quicker.

The first race should have been a bust. In real life if the starting line guy STOPS YOU and then tells you you LOST because of it, then starting line guy would typically get a free ride to the hospital and there'd be a new starting line guy.

I thought last weeks was pretty cool with the white Camaro and yellow Nova. The guy with the Camaro was a goober but for some reason I liked him, his car was fast!! Especially off the line, that thing took off like a rocket!!

You didn't miss much. THEY HAD STUPID MOTORCYCLES AGAIN!! It was cool that they were drag bikes, still sucked though....YAWN.

And of course, we had another "contraversey" with the starting line. When the guys were ready they would nod their head. I guess one guy didn't nod but the starter (bald dude) thought he nodded. So they had a big fight over that. Then the other guy was accused of leaveing early. I couldn't tell. They showed the tape over and over again and I still couldn't tell. They said he left before bald dude's hands came down. So when are they supposed to go? When his hands START to move down or when they hit his legs? I always thought you leave AS SOON AS HIS HANDS MOVE. That's what they've always done before. AS I'VE SAID BEFORE, ALL THIS CRAP AT THE LINE WOULD BE ELIMINATED IF THEY WOULD USE THE TREE AND BRACKET RACE TO GET THEIR QUEER LENGTHS!!!!!!

I know they try to have the whole "nostalgic" aspect of them using a starter but, all it's done is cause problems.

Pinks last night was awesome!! That T/A kicked that Honda's ass!! That kid (with the Honda) started the negotiation off with an attitude, what a punk. I think it's funny that Rich (bald dude) said "you're representing imports". Yeah, he represented imports alright, the only way he could beat the T/A was to get 20....yes 20 lengths. The T/A only had about 45hp more than the Honda.

The stupid kid didn't even use his slicks until he was down by two races. I also thought it was funny that the T/A guys accused him of granny shifting and he says "that's how I drive". Either that guy thinks the TA guys are stupid or that guy is stupid and DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!! Or maybe he drives that way so he won't hurt the wimpy little Honda. Sure it was twin turbo and had 600hp but, I was not impressed with the Honda at all. That TA was awesome.

AS ALWAYS, I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK!! Seems like the only two nights I like TV is Wed. for Pinks and Sun. for Hogan knows best, which starts again this week!!! His daughter Brooke is sooo damn hot!!!!

This past episode was all over H-t. The kid addmitted to not getting himself enough seat time. The car wasnt put together very well either. Open diff on a "drag" car? The trans am was a mid 9 sec car at best, detuned to run with the honda. Serves that dumb punk right for getting himself into something way over his head.

Yeah, 20 lengths, hell, I bet my Taurus could beat the TA with 20 lengths!! It did feel like a waste cause it wasn't even close. It was great that they did the whole domestic VS. import thing, but the kid didn't even know what he was doin. Hopefully they'll do a Mustang VS. TA/Z28. That would be a better rivalry and show. You'd think with the T/A only having about 45 more horses the Honda could keep up but I guess that just shows how much those cars lack in torque!

NO that poor kid didnt know what he was doing. However, the only defense ill put up in case of the honda is that it is/was a daily driven car with no lsd or suspension mods. One wheel peel's dont get you going anywhere. Ill ty and find the thread on H-T even us honda guys were giving him hell. Put that t/a against a reputable shop. car from over on the west coast and we would have a much better episode. RWD for the win.

Pinks sucked last night!!! I'm glad the Mustang won but the way he won I didn't like. I'm glad the Z started to break down first but, I would have rather seen a good race thru the whole show. I think they should have just come back to race again after fixing their cars. The Mustang guy was an ass, I didn't like him at all. The Z28 guy was on last season and he had a Mustang then, he was cool. Maybe he should have brought his Mustang again, it didn't break.

The guy in the Yellow Nova is actually pretty cool. He built the car not to win, but to show what the skill level is at his shop and what he can produce for a car.
