traction on fwd vs vr4

i'm a suspension guru and have done just about everything to my car except lower it. the other day as i pulled out in front of some traffic and got on it, i felt the front tires begin to slip as i had experienced many times before. only way i remedy this is to let up on the gas a bit until i regain traction or go ahead and shift into 2nd with the slight pause from 1-2 to regain traction.
i had hoped that after installing a LSD insert that my wheel hop would go away and that cornering speeds would increase a bit. for the most part, i'm happy with the improved results, but i still see a little wheel hop and i probably push the car beyond her limits about half of the time when cornering. its always fun to hear the tires SCREECH at the point at which loses traction.
My Question: i was wondering how the VR4 handles in a similar situation. from rest, pulling out into an immediate turn and romping on the gas. any traction problems? (i would hope not). do the wheels ever spin? one or more wheels?
i know i've read before about the VR4's method of distributing torque the the wheels, but what system in particular does it have?

get some solid motor mounts that should help deter wheel hop

VR4's have a viscous center and rear LSD and an open diff in the front.

as many as i've ridden in or driven, the wheels never spin unless your putting down like 500+AWHP. It just grabs the road and goes. I think its funny when people ask someone with a VR-4 to do a burnout . . . they just don't understand.

But as far as spinning them. Let's see. I've chirped tires ONCE, while racing a vette. I've broken loose 3 times. Once while taking a wide turn at around 100, and I locked up the brakes (driver error not the car). The other two times, were when I was in traffic and trying to take left turns fast. Dumping the clutch with higher rpms and the steering wheel turned, will get them spinning. But other than that, the only traction issues I have are in the snow.

Only @ 25psi But I would have to launch at somthing like 6000rpm.
At 15psi 400+ at the fly I only get chirp. although my dad did a side way drift from a lauch once lol

thanks for the info. with respect to the solid motor mounts, i'm sure this would transfer much vibration through the chassis, but is it noticeable? annoying at all? i don't mind sacrificing some comforts to make the car move more smoothly, but i would hope it wouldn't make the car just a bumpy, vibrating ride.
also, i know there is the polyurethane motor mount option. would you opt for solid still over polyurethane? i've also seen a full bushing replacement kit on 3sx. they sell one in just OEM rubber bushings, and another in polyurethane, i believe. granted, the polyurethane bushings would have a much much much longer life than OEM rubber, but i'm pretty sure that soo much vibration would be transfered elsewhere through the car that it would be quite uncomfortable for a daily driver, and perhaps only feasible for a race car.
any thoughts on solid, polyurethane mounts/bushings?

yes, a really good launch can allow the rear wheels to fishtail and slide. I've seen it first hand with on a stock VR-4. The good thing is that it's easily to get back undercontrol, unlike a RWD car.

I have solid motor mounts from Terry (Maximal Performance). The ride is not bad at all. You just get a slight more vibration when you are sitting still and idling, but its only a slight vibration, and it actually makes the car feel more sporty . . . kinda like being in a V8 like a Z28 or Trans Am. When you are moving, there is no vibration, its just the same as the car was with stock motor mounts.

last week i watch a 1100 hp 3000GT vr4 pull a all wheel burnout it only lasted a second or so but hey thats what i expected! check it out here http://videos.streetfire.net/search/3000gt/3.htm and the video is on page 4.

First off that car is 833AWHP, not 1100. And it can do a much longer all wheel burn out than that.

if you read my post properly you will see that clearly i stated the car was 1100 hp not awd hp which are 2 different things.
the 1100hp was probably taken at the flywheel and the 833 was obviously taken at the wheels and next i just watch the video and said wow thats cool.
The video itself states that it is '1100 hp' so there!!!! :P

Thats guestimated power. He hasnt dynoed the engine out of the car as far as I know. 1100-25%(DTL)=825 AWHP

well from what i understand, after he dynoed the 833 AWHP or whatever the exact numbers are, he stated that he got a better tune on the car and was easily making another 100 on top of that, but he never dynoed it a second time.

"873.76AWHP" So I would think he did...
