depending on your size tire if you have the 215/60r16 you can get a set of fuzion HRI's off the for $55 a tire, then you have to pay for shipping.

i have cooper cobra's on my car right now, and they're pretty good, and the wal-mart here sells american eagles for about $100, they're a good tire too.

For your size rims that you've got now, I would go with Kuhmo Ecsta's. I paid about $350 for all 4 from Discount Tire. Suckers have lasted for more than 2 years, but now serve as my coffee table since I've gotten new rims and tires.

I got the new Fuzion ZR1 .New division of Firestone. Unidirectional tread , great summer tire ,speed rated. Got my best price on the internet and my local Firestone store matched it ($78 per tire) . Very sticky during warmer days wet and dry . Easy to over power in the cold though . Rob

Yeah I honestly never had that problem. Mainly because I've got a V6 which I am lucky if I can even get to burnout without having to hold the brake down. I wouldn't recommend those tires for anyone with a V8, because as you said, they do have traction problems and arent exactly the softest tires around. I would only recommend them for those who have a V6 and are just looking for a basic tire replacement.

The only good Kumho is the Ecsta MX. But those wear fast.
I like BFG g-force t/a KDW. But they are a little pricey. All out performance is nice though. Again...they wear quickly.
Are you looking for wear, performance, cheapness??

I got my Proxe 4's for $150 each, the very best tire I have ever used. I have 245/45/17 all the way around and I have to floor my car to get them to spin from a stop. They also have been on both my Camaro and now are on the Trans Am so the don't wear real fast. There very good, check them out

I've never been dissappointed with any BFG tire I've ran. They are a good tire with the backing of one of the biggest tire makers out( Michelin). I'd have to agree with Mr. Luos on this one. The ultimate decision is yours of course. Buy what you can afford. Basic thinking is nromally the softer the tire compound, the better traction, but quicker wear.

Probably the worst tire I have seen on an f-body was the goodyear eagle gt4, they were good for exactly one year, sucked in wet weather and didn't wear for sh*t with being anal about rotation. Coming in a close second was the eagle f1's that were stock on the ss, enjoyed roasting the hell out of them and did the g-force kdw. I'm thinking next time g-force kd as the car really doesn't get driven all that much and I hate driving it in the rain.

Erdal...you have the Kumho Ecsta 711. A step down from the 712's if I remember right. Either way, not the best tires for traction.

They are drag radials. I can't get any traction on street tires.
You could fit a 19 inch wheel in the back. Might look a little funny though with a wheels that are 2 inches taller than the fronts.
Me...I am looking for a way to keep my factory wheels. Tires are 275/40/17's front and rear. Although I want to widen the rear wheels to fit 315/35/17's.

17's up front with 245's, 18's in back with 275's. They suite my need just fine, it's not like I actually have traction problems with my V6.
