1st gen. They're about $800 cheaper than a 2nd gen, they come with the right ECU, and the right tranny.

As far as the Z3 fenders go, no BMW Z3 fenders will fit a Civic. Even if they fit, they don't "fit". ;)

No the fenders will not fit, but i think he just wants the z3 style. Now those fiberglass z3 fenders run around 200-300 bucks.

By right ECU he means the gen1 comes with an OBD0 ECU so you wont have to worry about as much wiring as you would if you used the second gen OBD1 ECU... Your car is OBD0...

And the tranny is cable so you wont have to convert from cable to hydro (the generation 2 is hydro)... You car uses a cable tranny...

I honestly think u should take more time than 3 weeks to just read up on the subject and research it before u jump into it...

I say screw it and get the '92-'93 Integra XSi engine. It is an OBD1 engine (so there's more stuff involved), but it also came with a cable tranny and roughly 8hp more (same hp rating as the "2nd gen" b16a).

1st gen will be easier. Beyond that, it's your choice.

Here are some questions that should help you decide:
(1)Is it worth the hassle of converting to OBD1?
-- If the answer is no, then go with the 1st gen. If the answer is yes, then go to question #2.

(2)Are you willing to spend more $ for 8hp?
--If the answer is no, then go with the 1st gen. If the answer is yes, then go to question #3.

(3)Is it worth the extra $ to have to buy (and install) the hydro to cable conversion?
--If the answer is no, then go with the Integra XSi version. If the answer is yes, then get the 2nd gen.

the complete comes with stock axels, shiftlinkage, and mounts

*Requires aftermarket parts for most applications. We can supply you with the hasport mount kit for $300 and the hasport linkage for $60.Prices only valid with purchase of a complete changeover. We can also supply you with 90-93 Integra steering knuckles and hubs for $50 if you need them. Also availabe is the Hasport Aluminum A/C bracket for $160 and the Hasport wiring sub-harness for EF civics that are either HF or Si models (not DX or STD) for $60.

so if you need this stuff also, then i would just go with the complete, but i have never bought an engine yet, so someone else might wana throw in their :2cents:

Dude, you can get those things cheaper but yes you need them. $60 may be a good price though for the linkage which you will need. Since you're "new" to this, your best bet is to stay OBD0 unless you're really good at complicated wiring. You can get engine mounts cheaper than $300 from different suppliers. Do some searching and READING! Also, may want to get a new water pump and timing belt installed before dropping the engine in. But that's your choice. Oh, and if all goes well and you get the engine in and all the sensors are working properly, don't forget to use high octane fuel for that 10.2:1 cr engine...

In addition to the water pump and timing belt, youll also want to replace the clutch, and there will probably be broken sensors on the engine you will need to replace... Most places wont warranty them or the distributor... So plan for extra peices Ill say $200 atleast over what you pay for the complete swap...

Swaps are not cheap, and they certainly arent something ANYONE should just jump into, like I said before, READ, READ, READ, and when you THINK youve learned enough, READ somemore... I read my ass off before I did my swap and still ended up missing various parts I needed and info I didnt have and finding unexpected stuff, and in the end is cost me more because of it... So READ! I can gaurantee you, there is more to this swap than is contained in this one thread, and I doubt anyone wants to take the time to type every little thing out, or even remembers every single step... Which is why your own research is the most important thing you can do...

One of the big differences between the 1st gen B16s and the newer gens is the 1st gen has a relativley small intake manifold. Its not hard to get a newer one of those for cheap.

You don't want to have to convert to OBD
You DO want a cable tranny.
