Ok here is the deal, i just got this today from ups and it was in this condition. I called XO and they said they would replace if i wanted to, but the catch is i have to pay shipping to get it to CALI which is $40. And also wait another 2 weeks for it, 1 week to get there and 1 week to get back. I do not need it right now but thats not the point!!! Its only the top piece bent nothing that air flows through is messed up, also you will never see it anyways when its on the car. Should i just not worry about it? The only thing is that i know its there lol. And i like my shit perfect!!!!

I would tell them that they are liable for the product until it is delivered into your hands as it is supposed to be. If it breaks during shipping it is their fault and they should be liable for all charges you incurr in shipping it back to them.

did you not have shipping insurance?

They put shipping insurance on it.

xavier3jr

Kinda defeats the purpose of insurance if you still have to pay.

wow, this is low even for SSAutoChrome. Insurance and they still want you to send it back. I wouldn't even doubt they sent you the intercooler like that, just to make more money off of shipping. What a bunch of tools, this is exactly why I went off on SSAutochrome a while back....

clipsekid99
02-15-2006, 09:11 PM
That's not a ssautochrome core, its a XO racing intercooler..... or atleast that's what I think lol. I do know there is a company on ebay called XO racing or something like that.

i thought XO was just a nockoff of ssautochrome

Take it to the carier that shipped the Item and fill out a insurance claim and ask them what to do. When inusrance is placed on an item it has to be visualy inspected. Just for future refrence UPS has an automatic $100 insurance on every shipped item.

What scottsee said. Insurance is incase it gets f'ed in delivery and they should take care of it for you. If not, I would just turn it around so its facing the engine ;).

Yeah you need to deal with the shipping company not with the shipper. I think it's cool that the shipper offered to replace it. Try going and getting a claim form, hopefully you have all the packing material.

SSAutoChrome has many knock off names including XO. They did this to try and sucker more people into buying their crap.

Well, on tuners, 2 different people pressure tested the group buy fmic kit....

One did 45 psi for ~50 min and found nothing, nothing blew up.
The second person did 40 psi for over an hour and had no problems.

I thought their knock off brand was xs power not xo, unless its both. I used to feel the same way about ss but a buddy of mine talked to a high up rep or whatever and I guess they have changed things around, granted I would never trust a turbo or wastegate from them but something like an exhaust manifold or IC I think I could do, epically since they offer a lifetime warranty against cracks and manufacture defects

Mines an xs power and its perfectly fine. I'll let ya know how it holds up once I get it put on here in the next few weeks...

That one though is really messed up. I would do the insurance claim cause that one is just ridiculous.

They used to be XS Power and changed their name. I'm not sure about XO but hearing that it shipped from Cali makes me think it wasn't XS unless they have ship direct from suppliers. When I ordered a turbo from them, it shipped from North Carolina. I could never pinpoint a location or an office or get a phone number.

The only thing that can fix bad press is a LOT of good press. Frankly, this group FMIC was a make it or break it decision for them. If the FMICs don't horribly suck, they will probably stay in business but there will be the crunchymilks and dragonofbcs that will try to dissuade people from buying their stuff. If something goes wrong...they lose all credibility and probably go out of business in the near future. It really is in their best interest to make sure those FMICs you all bought are top notch.

IMO bottom line is if it works it does and if it doesn't get one that does. I agree SSAutoChrome has a shit ton of bad reviews and alot of their products have taken a shit one people, but I've heard quite a few good things about them to. I haven't personally boughten anything from them so I cant really form my own opinion until I do

Dude you've got to start typing a little better, at least use the spell check like you made a whole thread about. And it's not that hard to read over what you wrote and make some corrections. It'll make it alot easier for us to read and understand. No hard feelings though. :)

why not try to bend it back,i dont think it looks that bad it will take you some time but it looks like it could be done pretty easy

If you say it will not affect airflow, then go ahead and try and fix it...if you mess it up even more, then take it to UPS and file an insurance claim.

take your time on the fins...GL

Blackcrow64
02-16-2006, 11:48 PM
I wouldn't attempted fixing it... Its aluminum... As soon as he trys to bend those thin fins back they are gonna more than likely snap off.

gthompson97
02-17-2006, 06:58 AM
Don't try fixing it. Even if you do straighten out the big bar across the top, those fins are probably already cracked and are leaking. If you try fix it and it's already wrecked, they won't take it on warranty. Just send it back and get a new one.

Well ups will not go good for it, and if i want it sent back i have to pay$40 or more shipping. Im not gonna worry about it i guess. It will not effect air flow, its not in the air ports at all, i will just turn it around so you cannot see it, or maybe i will attempt to bend the top plate back up, its stainless steel if i have the balls to mess with it. lol

Those fins have nothing to do with the turbo air flow

Let me get this straight. UPS has a default $100 insurance on all items shipped by them. On top of that you paid extra for insurance. Then when you get the f*cked up item, neither the shipper or the shipping company stands by their word? WTF did the insurance do then!? Man, this is why I can't stand companies today. They just fucking flat out lie to your face constantly. Every single commercial, every promise, every claim, it's all complete crap! I could give SOOO many examples. Make sure to leave BAD feedback (although they'll just leave retaliatory bad feedback for you). I would also file a complaint with UPS, the BBB, and ebay. I would ALSO put a stop on your credit card payment if you payed by cc.

I didn't mean the turbo airflow, I meant airflow through the FMIC, that part of the FMIC won't cool very well being as it's all crumpled together and you won't get any airflow over the fins. It's not THAT big of a deal, but I know it would bother me.
