P1870

Just got this code on my 97 Tahoe. Any ideas on how much it will costr to get it fixed? The transmission seems to shift real hard after traveling on the highway for 15 minutes. I am assuming the are connected. Please help.

Usually this is caused by a loss of pressure when the TCC is applied, caused by a worn valve in the valve body, can be fixed by a competent trans shop with a VB repair kit, very common issue. This should be scanned with a trans functional scanner to confirm the cause, though.

I did the repair to the valve but it didn't work.
Had to replace the torque converter. My trans felt like it was going to rip the driveshaft out when shifting from 1 to 2 after it warmed up.

That's why I said to have it scanned for proper function of the tcc before going to the VB.
