car sometimes seems to lose power whe you step on the gas while driving and starts to sputter but will pick back up when you back off the gas some what could be causing this problem ?

It sounds like a vacuum leak, but checking all the vacuum lines can be a bitch.
You can run a diagnostic by putting the key in the ignition, and turning it on and off (not starting the car mind you) 4 or 5 times. your check engine light will flash giving you the codes. then look them up. i think 1-4 or 1-3 is vacuum lines.
If you have trouble finding a vacuum line diagram the library will have them.

check for codes.
this is a non-turbo Lebaron, correct? Turbo problems can also cause this...
Could be TPS sensor, MAP sensor, others.
Dirty injector or throttle body
Also could be low fuel pressure (clogged filter, bad pump, clogged sump or return.)
worst case scenario- Cracked Head or broken piston wrist pin.
Check these items out
