They'd cut out the rust and weld in new metal.

From the things I've heard about their paint jobs alone, I wouldn't take it to them. But I'm sure they could probably do it.

I've heard from quite a few people (as well as read even more people complaining online), that their paint jobs are garbage. Like if you get one of their cheaper paint jobs, they don't do any prep work. Meaning, no sanding down the existing clear coat (was told that by someone I know who got a paint job from them), and they don't tape anything off before they spray (ie paint on the windows/windshield, lights, mirrors, etc). However I have read that you should do all the prep work yourself beforehand, and then the paint job will turn out pretty decent. Though, it won't last that long and if there was any rust, it will show up again fairly quickly. Again, this is just what I've been told and have read; I have no personal knowledge about them (and won't ever).

i wouldn't have maaco do any body work on my car except for maybe paint (i'm cheap). i would take it to a body shop that specializes in car restoration. my grandfather had rust (rust on the trunk) worked on by maaco and the rust rusted over the paint over time.
