O/D problem

I have a 95 SR5 Limited 4X4 4Runner with an auto tranny that wont shift out of overdrive when it is cold, whats wrong!!!!! Once it warms up I it shifts fine. Ive replaced the thermostat already. But i cant find the problem:banghead: Can somebody please help me!!!!

There is nothing wrong!! Seriously this is by design, it brings your motor to the operating temp faster.
So until it reaches full temp it is not supposed to shift into OD.

That is where a malfunctioning thermosat will become symptomatic, in that it never lets it get to the ECU set point and therefore never shifts into OD.

bigpest - Did you mean shifts into OD or out of OD as you posted? 4Wheel is right if you meant that it won't shift into OD.
