Do anyone know if they make a computer programmer for a 90 Camaro. I know they make them for the Mustangs, but I haven't seen them for older camaro's. I would like to tell the computer what I want it to do instead of it telling me what it wants to do.

That is the wrong way to do it. Yes, you can program the PROM chip in the 3rd gen F bodies. The secret to doing it, however, is to program the chip to what the engine wants/needs, not to how you think it should be running.

it is best to have someone burn you a chip. There is a guy at www.tbichips.com he is awsome at doing this. Just tell him what you have and your upgrades and he will custome burn you one.

it is like $75 for a good tune. he recomends you run 93 or higher gas and a 160 thermostat with his custome chip.

That's pretty cheap. Have you had one made? Was it to your likeing?

Talk to Alvin here http://www.pcmforless.com/ The Corvette crowd swears by his work and I have "talked" to him about tuning and such. He is very knowledgeable and seems to be a good businessman. If you E mail him, give him a day or 2 to respond, he is swamped at the moment but will get to you.

Sounds like it would be a pain in the ass to send it back and forth if it's not tuned right. Might have to try it out though.

There wouldn't be much back and forth, Alvin is pretty damn good at what he does. as long as you don't have mechanical/electrical engine problems it shouldn't take more than 2 maybe 3 times to get it perfect...and if you have a combo he has done before it'll be right the first time.
and if you down load TTS Datamaster (free for the first 20 scans) and use a laptop to monitor and record your ECM data stream and send the saved file to him, he'll be able to get it right even sooner.

Sounds like you have done this before and had some success.

Actually no, I've never delt with PCM for less myself, I do all of my own chip programming.

Isn't there a special connector you have to have along with a program?
