my problem is setting the timing after i r/r the intake gasket .now the dist rotor is set about 45degrees away from tdc i set the crank pullet at TDC and got the blow out from my #1 cylinder but im still 45degrees off (about)a mechanic told me to take the distributer out and stick a long screwdriver down the shaft and rotate the shaft for the distributer but i cant get it to move much more and it's still off a very little.I'm getting very frustrated can you walk me through it ,anyone?
Sonny.

Look at this article: http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/howto/45673/index.html
Scroll down and look for "if the engine was disturbed" and read on from there.
