I have a 99 Venture and Just the other day the "sevice engine" light came on. It went away but when I shut the van off it would not start again. It turned over and over but acted as if deprived of fuel. After leaving it for an hour went out and it started, it sputtered and idled roughly. I managed to drive it home (25km) and turned it off and then restarted fine. Went out and started it today and fine again. Drove it all day and turned it off and now it will just whinned over and over again. I've after reading all the Threads everyone has wrote and going to try them out.If its the fuel pump Im wondering if anyone knows if you can get to the top of the tank through the floor on these vans ??? I know you can on some older vehicles....Also if there are any other suggestions to what the problem could be pls let me know..??

If it is your fuel pump, you can not access through the floor. My van drove fine for 8 1/2 hrs on a vaction return trip. Stopped for food for 1 hour. Came out and the van was dead. It gave no warning that it was about to go.
Since it is an electronic part, I assum they can just stop working like that.
Had the fuel pump replaced at a dealer in the town where it died. $700 repair. I assume you either drop the tank, or access the assembley from underneath.

Thank you for answering my question, Had the van put in the garage and thanfully turned out to be the same problem as the other 90 % of the Venture owners. It was the plug that goes to the fuel pump. Labour and parts totalled $100. a far cry from the $700 - $1000 dollars it would have cost for fuel pump replacement ..
