Hey there,
I drive a 91 Escort GT and I'm just curious why the heater and the wipers will both work when the car is off and the keys are in my hand??
Not that it is a big problem, I just always have to check and double check that I shut everything off. Is there a fix for this ?

i dunno about your escort but in mine i can pull the key out after the car is shut off but the ignition switch is not all the way back i would check to make sure the key is all the way back, my fathers tracer is the same way u can pull the key out in the on position,

No, Even when the Key is in the Locked/Off mode the heater and wipers will still work. I wonder if it may be an electrical porblem. wired wrong or something

Someone either messed with your wiring or your ignition switch is bad... although it may go to the off position it is not turning off... does the radio and everything else work when the key is out?

No the radio doesn't work when the car is off just the heater and the wipers
