Every since my turn signal switch messed up, I’m having trouble with my tail lamps also, my Daytime running lights, don’t work either, does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it? Thanks

my guess is when you fixed the turn signal you mixed some wires up. double check all your wiring. it also might be a blown circuit.

i never fixed the signals, matter of fact, i have never even fixed a single thing on my car.... i got the car a month ago
and there is nothing wrong with it except the signals and brake light and the DRL

Check w/ your local dealer to see if there is a lighting control module listed for your vehicle. That is a possibility. M

I think the signal and brake light problem are related, i.e. replacing switch may correct both. Not sure about the DRL

What I'm relaying to you is picked up solely from this forum, so you'd do well to search thru the forum further to make sure I've not mucked up the interpretation, ok?

You have a common problem, I have the same year and same problem. you can get your brake lights to work if you pull back slightly on the turn signal lever, I'm guessing.

I've read thru here, and will be looking more but if you replace the turn signal switch I believe the problem goes away. It's called a multifunction switch and as i understand, the contacts inside the steering column go bad. I'm going searching to see if it's just the contacts module or if its the entire lever also.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Anyone remember a year or more ago, there was a guy on here that made a circuit board to fix that fault that makes the Brake/turn/DRL go out as described? And he'd make you one for $30 or something, much better than the $100+ I think it costs for a new GM unit...

BTW, I had some sporadic trouble with my Multi Function a while back...as a conditioned reflex I sprayed WD-40 all over the switch, stalk and into the column where the stalk mounts...and have had no trouble since...
