Hi all
I hope that someone may be able to help ,
i have spent many wasted hours trying to get information about how to connect nokia's car kit 91 to the radio mute on my car. If anyone can help with a diagram of the radio as seen from the back or a discription of how to connect i would be most greatfull. The best i can do is get a small symbol of a phone to come up on the display but the radio does not mute.

my car is
2000 primera ex 1.8 hatchback new model
the headunit seems to be a clarion unit with a 6 deck cd player .

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give

You have to connect the radio mute live wire to the third or fourth pin from the right in the group of pins in the top middle of the back of the radio. The group with no plug in them.

Thanks Driverman for the reply ,
I have checked the pin connections you described and found that pin 3 is currently connected to the car kit but only brings up a symbol of a phone on the bottom left corner of the display when making or recieving a call.Pin 4 does not seem to do anything so i guess i will just have to carry on using the volume switch for now.

Thanks again.

Make sure the connector from the car kit is live when you make a call if you haven't already.
P.S. Does your primera have audio controls on the steering wheel? RE my posting about wiring.

Ranger,

Its actually the second pin from the right as I had cause to have the radio out and I checked it.
