Is that possible? changing a 3rd generation firebird front end to look like a camaro? i know they say the fenders are interchangable but they're NOT. it seems like you need to do fenders, bumpers, lights, hood. does anyone know if this is possible? anyone tried?

i need new fenders so im thinking of it...

It has to be possible, they're the same chassis underneath. However, it may be a lot of work and detract from the value of the car if you wish to sell it. I don't think it's a change people generally regard as a popular one. Of course, everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it, so who am I to say what you should do with your car. You would have to change everything you listed, but be sure that you get all the lights, brackets, etc. You may have to modify wiring harnesses, too. Remember, third gen Camaros have 4 lights, and the Pontiacs have only 2. You can always unplug the electric motor wiring for the pop up headlights..

I had a friend who did this type of thing with a second gen car. He made what he called a "Trans Camaro" He put the Pontiac front on a camaro shell, complete with shaker hood, side splitter exhaust, etc.. It was made as a result of extra Pontiac parts and a needy Camaro shell. He admitted he had a lot of double takes and onlookers.

I hope this is helpful.

lolz thanks..yeah i knew it would be a lot of work but i need fenders and since i live in hawaii shipping is hell to buy them from places... i dented both fenders and bumper..so... i sort of need a new front end. i found a lot of camaros on this island for less then 500 dollars (shell) but no ones selling firebirds..i also looked in junkyards, etc...they all have dented fenders -_-

is that just a firebird thing? dented fenders?!..

well my firebird is partly camaro neways, since the rear spoiler is a z28 spoiler O_O.

Yeah, I think we were talking before about parts. I have 2 trans am fenders (form an '84) you can have if you pay for shipping. nobody is buying them from me listing locally in the paper. they have minor dings, but are definitely useful. I'm in Los angeles, so shipping may still be high, but at least I am as close to you as one can be.

what would it cost to ship by boat? I cna use plastic wrap if you want for minimal packaging...

let me know if you're interested. I can email you pics if you give me an email address.
