I have an automatic 1996 Z28.
The problem I am having is that the "Service engine soon" light goes on then it goes off. One day it would be on and then it would just go off. Does this have something to do with the O2 sensor.
The same things happen with my engine coolant level light. It goes on after 25 minutes of driving. I checked the coolant level and it is full. It would go on then go off.
Please help!!

have the codes pulled and see what it says. Autozone will check what code it is for free. See what code it is and post again.

What he said.
Does the SES light flash or just come on solid?? If it's flashing it's a misfire; if it's solid it's anything else. Autozone, and come back with the code # and description.

The light is coming on for one reason or another.
The computer can be your best friend, or your worst enemy...like a woman... do what she says or she will just keep nagging ya, you can try to ignore her, but in the end, she will get what she wants...or else!!! :evillol: :uhoh: :evillol:

Yes, the light is coming on for a reason... and since it's a 96 the computer in 95% of cases will tell you EXACTLY what is wrong and where. Get it scanned.
