Which Tonneau Cover?

I'm interested in feedback on different covers people have?
I've just started looking and am interested in the "self rolling" covers.

i have got one for sale it is a blue fiberglass model, i'm not sure were you live but i would give it away for a pretty sweet deal if you were local and or interested

I'm actually more interested in a soft cover (I'm in Ohio).
My old truck had the ol' button snap cover... which was just fine for what I needed (I had a mazda B3000)... this was 12 years ago. Now I have a new silverado and was wondering what some folks thought, pro/con of their soft covers.

i.e. Does the self rolling covers ride on a "lip" that extends into the bed space? Has this caused a problem for anyone?

(I do somelight hauling from time-to-time... limbs, shrubs, mulch and the such.)

I've had a couple of the retractable type covers and they are ok, but you do have a canister in the bed that takes up space and the models I had overlaped on the top of the bed so the stake pockets are not useable and they both leaked like crazy. I now have a Truxedo roll-up soft cover that I like a lot. It is compact, covers and uncovers easily, is pretty well water tight, leaves the stake pockets open and when the cover is rolled back it stores neatly at the back of the bed. Plus it was less than half the price of the retractable covers.

i have an extang, its awesome it dont shrink when its cold either, went thru the car wash the other day and the big dryers didnt even bust anything so i was happy, im very pleased with it and i also live here in ohio

Look into the tri-fold soft covers. Easy off, stores compact in truck or in garage and no parts left on truck. I had a soft framed tonneau that I liked until I had to haul something and had to come back to get my top..... bad idea.

I have the roll top cover (with the canister in the bed), and I HATE IT! I live in NY, and if there is any snow on it, you have to completly clean it off before being able to open it. That is if you can get your key in the lock. It's a black top, so when the sun comes out, it melts the snow, then at night it freezes up in the lock, pissing me off!! If you live in Ohio, I'd think long and hard about this one. My brother has one those soft roll up covers. It's really nice. It's spring loaded at the tailgate end and snaps down and holds itself taught. Works great, even in cold weather. That's the way I'd go. Check out the link below.....

What is the "canister in the bed" that you are speaking of?

I probably won't use the stakes much, if at all, so having a top cover the holes wouldn't bother me.

Has anyone had any problems using the roll-tops since the frame sits slightly "inside" the bed rails instead of on top of them.
Any problem with rain getting inside the bed, again, because the frame site inside the rails?
On my old snap top, I could get a load of top soil, etc. and the frame was not in the way. With the roll-tops, does the frame get in the way for anyone?

I have a Lund Genesis roll-up cover and it is great. Pretty much the same operation and quality as the Access and Truxedo but about half the price, depending on where you buy it. Actually, IMO, it is much better at keeping out moisture too. I highly recommend one!!
