Revive a musican!

Who of all the great legends would you revive? Not just because of his'her music skills, cause the things that makes a musician great is much more that just that, aint i right?

My guesses for the major names that will show here is Elvis, Curt cobain and John Lennon.

My personal choice will be Joey Ramone (Jeffrey Hyman). To me he is such an inspiration. When he got to be a singer in a band, wich was like the best thing ever happened to him, he was shortly kicked out. Why? He was too ugly.

Then he got to be the singer of The Ramones. Later he was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Though he wasn't really bothered. He later wanted someone to hold hands with the rest of his life, and a girl named Linda wanted to be that person. Later she was taken from him by the band member Johnny Ramone. He wrote a song about it, The KKK took my baby away.

He died in lymphatic cancer on April 15, 2001; he was 49 years old.
When seeing him speak on videos, he reminds of Goofy.

So, who's your choice? And motivate it :D

Really hard question...it's pretty much a three horse race:
1. Randy Rhoads
2. Cliff Burton
3. Dimebag Darrell
Don't make me pick...I wanna bring all three back.

I don't think legends should be revived. they're a legend for a reason, as a martyr is. i.e., the charger/challenger, shoulda stayed a dead legend, is now a revived pos as far as modern cars go.

I woulda said Cash, but he lived a full life, and gave a major contribution to music. If anyone should be revived, i'd say rather than a legend, someone like Aliyah should be revived, as they had a VERY promising future. Jim, think about this, say all of metallica died in a horrible fiery and fitting death right after their peak. (before they cut their hair? lol) wouldn't the name mean so much more than it does right now? like, b4, dimebag darell; "oh, he's the frikken shit". now that he's dead, you get tributes from artists at shows, you get the knowing nod when you bring up the name, the usual mention "RIP" legends are much more revered as legends, and should not be revived. they should be remembered as they were before they left us, instead of coming back trying to fulfil an expectation. (which is why dodge is a fag, and shoulda kept the 68 charger r/t as it was... a dead legend)

What if the question was 'Who's your favourite legend?' then?

Well, Sublime as a band is one of my favorite artists, and Bradly Nowell is kind of an idol to me as i believe he knew how to live life to be truly happy. in his songs, he reflects how you can turn away from shit and look at the good sides of life.
After he died, the rest of the band formed 'Long Beach Dub Allstars', and one of their best hits was a tribute to Bradley, called Sunny Hours:

Well I woke up in too many beds with girls I didn't know
I've seen lots of brothers at top, and I've watched them come and go
And tell me why I'm not dead with them in the valley down below
I give thanks everyday for these words that save my soul
I only got the sunny hours, the brightest hours of day
I never count the gloomy hours, I let them slip away
And I realize I'm away

If you read up on Bradley's life, and understand kinda find an intraspective connection, i guess you'd understand.

But then if Metallica did die in their prime it goes back to your theory that Alyiah (sp?) deserves to be revived because she had a bright future. People would say the same thing about Metallica if they went in their prime. Randy Rhoads falls into that category too because he was relatively young when he died. Dime had a more complete career, but he still had a future.

Anyways, just my two cents on the issue and I've never seen any of those three guys live (hell Rhoads died four years before I was born and Cliff died 20 days after) and I would have loved to see any of them play.

Aliyah never hit a prime, she was a brand new artist, as John Legend is right now. Metallica pretty much fulfilled thier career dreams by the time they put out Black Album. After touring and getting richer, making the S&M live discs, they die, they would have been legends. Even if they die now, they'll be legends, but not before going sour (referring to St. Anger).
Yeah, i agree Randy was still climbing the ladder in music, he could have gone much further before eh died, but atleast he got to Ozzy to get his name in lights. ne way, i was just expressing my view on legends, and saw a chance to talkdown dodge, lol

You seem to have forgotten Load/Re-Load. Metallica got a lot of flak for those albums. Thats what really began to negatively change their image.

Back on topic,
I know he's a massive legend partialy because he died young, but Jim Morrision still had plenty of potential, and there's a lot of poeple who'd want him back. The same could be said about Hendrix and Cobain too.

I Agree, Morrison had amazing talent, and i guess he could have built more on his fame, too. hmm, suddenly my line for who's a legend and who isn't is becoming blurrier, o well. live and learn.
