Anyone else here have a fast boat?

Hey all,

Just wonderin if there are any other boat enthusiasts on here...

My family has a little ski boat... not sure what kind, my dad says its an off brand of a Tahiti(sp?)

Anyways, I think it originally had a 90 hp 4 or 6 cylinder outboard, my dad dumped that and put a 115 hp mercury I-6 outboard on it... it went allright till one of the pistons broke (i think it was a rod that snapped or cracked or something... it was years ago)

After sitting for like 10 years, my dad had a guy give him a 175 hp (flywheel rating) Mercury V6 outboard... we ran with that for about one year, then my dad wanted more, so he had his boat mechanic friend build it up for him... now its running 203 hp at the prop... and this is in a boat meant to have no more than 110 hp :P

Its fast as hell, and redlines at 7k :P We are trying out different props to get the right combination of Low end pulling power and a high top speed... With the right prop, my dad said we should be able to hit 100mph... :P

I want him to get a race prop, but he likes water skiing, and needs the pulling power to pull skiers :(

So anyways... anyone else on here have a fast boat?

Ive got a boat, but its not fast. Its just a little 12 foot Lund aluminum boat, with a 1972 Johnson 9.9 outboard on it.

I have a canoe!!! :D
