Hey guys. The old man just bought a used ford taurus SEL (2002)
After laughing at him for a few days (He only had it 36hrs before it had to go into the shop because it was only running on 5 cylinders), I now feel sorry for him. I wanna help him out.
Its got that keyless entry crap (drivers side door code panel). He's obsessed with it. The dealer didn't know the code. He said to take it to the ford dealership and have them read it. I don't want him to pay 50$ just for a stupid door code.
I read it was on the trunk hinge, well its not. There's a number pressed into it, but its got letters and shit.
The manual says its located on the "inner side" of the passenger cabin fuse box. Well its not. I read the vehicle history, and I don't think the fuse box should have ever been replaced, so this is kind of strange.
Here's a pic of the side of the fuse box. Am I looking in the right place or what?

Any other ideas?

What makes you think we'd help if you laugh at us, and fell "sorry" for Taurus owner(s)? That's condescending, patronizing and arrogant. I know the answers to your questions, but you won't get them from me, and hope from none of us. Go and spend the $50, and see if you'll feel like laughing at the cashier.

Likewise, I know the answer to your question and feel the same as Banjoman10. Have your "old man" post and we'll help him out.
I'll be kind enough to suggest that had you taken the time to do a little research (ie: search this forum) there is a good chance you could find your answer. I've already taken more time to read your post and type this than it will probably take you to use the effective search feature of this forum and find the answer.

Actually, I did search. In fact, I've probably spent more time searching than either of you ever have. There are no relevant threads concerning the '02 SEL keycode. '01 and '03, sure.
If you don't want to help, go bother someone else. What a bunch of immature kids. We don't all have to like the same type of car to help each other, do we?
And to the first guy, maybe you should look up the definition of condescending. "do something that one considers to be below one's dignity". Point out to me where I was condescending... I simply said I laughed at him for buying this car. How that affects you, I have no idea. Fuck off, kid. Go stir up shit elsewhere.
I thought this was an "automotive forum" not "FORD fanboy forum". C'mon guys. If your not going to stay on topic, don't post.

Alright, I just found my answer from some mature and generous guys on a different forum. You all can take your bullshit irrelevant posts and shove them up your childish asses, I won't be back.
Fuck you, very much.

Excuse you? You're the one that came into THEIR forum basically laughing at the vehicles they drive. I don't blame them for not wanting to help you, in all honesty. If you don't have enough respect for the fact that they own these vehicles to keep your opinions on how much you hate the car, why should they show you the respect of giving you an answer to your problem?
You're very right that you won't be back, we don't need people like you on these forums. You're right, they are an automotive forum. By that it is meant that the people on this forum understand and respect others, even if they don't like the car--something you neglected to show and obviously don't care about. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.
