I have a 6000 pontiac 1989. It was in geat condition but now it has an oil and transmission leak. The past day it has been idling and almost stalling at stop lights. I put oil and transmission fluid in it but it is still idling hard. Any ideas? Also does anyone else have any problems with this kind of pontiac? Thanks in advance.

try an o2 sensor, they are cheap and can cause numerous problams like yours.

I have an 1988 6000, and I also have the same problem. I have been told that it could be the PCV Valve. I am currently in the process of changing it.

1989 pontiac 6000 pcv valve will make it idle rough. true. check air hoses for cracks for they can also cause rough idling.

The IAC valve is possibly gummed up.

Try to test the resistance of the injectors. Very common GM problem.
