92 celica head gasket

hi guys
I need to find out what engine i have in the car it is a 92 celica and the head has blown and it blew hard. I need to change it and what more in fo on how to change it and were i can get the cheapest parts. The guy i bought it off thinks it has another engine not a celica 92 it looks like teh same a celica it has a top mount intercooler and turbo i will get a photo and attach it tomm please help

If the engine in your 92 Celica has a top mount intercooler, then it's most likely a 3SGTE.

Well...better because it has more power than the n/a 3SFE and the 5SFE. Worse because the parts are more expensive. Changing the head gasket on a turbo motor takes alot more time too.

i am in australia hmmmmm do u know cause i found out that in america parts are much cheaper any idea how much head gasket $$$$ in america

you had a 3sgte and didnt know it? is the car a celica alltrac or is it a reg. celica with a swapped engine? try ebay for a headgasket.

i just bought it is front wheel drive i got for a bargain that is why hmmm i have noidea about Jap cars australian cars ask me a question i know all well we are not so smart after all LOL

Ebay is a good place to look. You can also try pickproparts.com. I found a metal head gasket for my Camry there, even though everyone said there aren't metal head gaskets for my car. The part number for your engine should be Fel-Pro fpg 9853PT. It's about $60 U.S. Check it out. Good Luck!
