So I downloaded it and am currently using it and I must say, I am impressed. It's very clean cut, fairly quick, and offers more security features than I know what to do with. Anyone else try it yet?

Unfortunately I only have production machines at the moment, and a beta release is not worth the risk.
If I get a closed environment test machine some time soon, I will consider it, but numerous holes have already been reported in it with Internet Banking software and password handling. I don't trust it as far as I can throw it.

well I don't do any online banking so I'm not too worried about it. Thanks for the heads up though.

bleh, even if it came close to Firefox in security it is doubtful they will open it for everyone to make extensions. And without those it will not hold a candle to it.
The only thing i'm hoping for it is that it will start properly supporting CSS. i'm sick of designing something that works both on opera and firefox but its Fubar under IE forcing me to trick it into working or dropping some features altogheter.
oh and just another fun IE story i've discovered recently, one of my roomates just got a brand new PDA with the latest windows portable. Well surfing the net with that i've discovered that it did not support any CSS code on my site. On the other hand my other roomate's PSP with the 2.0 firmware (the one they added a browser) had full support of the code.
So yes a fucking Sony gaming unit with an afterthought browser had better CSS support than the freakin portable IE. Shows you the quality of Microsoft browsers.

The new firefox messed my system up... I don't know exactly how, but the minute I installed it, my internet went haywire... that's why I switched to this beta program in the first place.

Neutrino, I completely understand and agree with why you don't use IE, but don't you find you have to know it / break it / fix it / test it, just because it's so widely used? I use it simply because I have to support it, no other reason.

If for some strage reason firefox does not work well on your system give Opera a try.

This is why it bugs me so much, if IE were just some niche market browser i would forget completelly about it. But since its by far the dominant browser on the market, I have to make sure the site works good on it wether i like it or not.
So yeah for now i'll be still be using IE6 to assure my site's compatibility. I'll start using IE7 for same testing reasons when it becomes the mainstream browser (probably a bit after vista comes out).

I heard it looks like firefox but knowing M$ they'll have basically the same code in there. It's like dropping an engine from a 95 neon into a 2004 neon. It might look good on the outside but it will be crap and outdated on the inside.
