Air Ride Compressor Not working

I have a 1999 Venture and the air ride compressor will not work automatically, nor will it work when the manual switch is turned on. I can NOT find a fuse for this componant. Can anyone help me with the electrical connection of this unit? It is probably bad but I want to make sure it is getting juice before buying a new one.:banghead: Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

If yours is like my 2001, you should have a fuse panel on the right side of the dash. Open the passenger side door and you should see it there. The link below has a picture and diagram you can look at.

I believe it is fuse # 34 in the top diagram.

Thank you. Unfortunately the fuse was good so I will assume the unit is faulty. Looks like a $300-$400 part from the dealer. Any after market units out there?

Given that the electrical connections to the air compressor are outside the passenger compartment and down in the mud and muck, I'd first check for power at the air compressor before you buy anything. You might just have a bad connection.

Greg A might have a schematic for the load leveling/air compressor system. I'd check all the connections starting at the pump and working backward before spending any money.....Good luck! Glen

It looks like I have to agree with Glen (AGAIN) on this. I would check all the other connections & components before laying down big bucks. Go for the simple (& inexpensive) stuff first.

After looking some of this stuff up in the manual, there are at least 2 connections under the van: one to the compressor and one to the sensor.

There is also at least one RELAY back there for turning the compressor on. There may be two (one under the van, one inside for the manual air).

I haven't found the schematic (yet).
