i gotta 89 crx with a b16 and im pretty sure if i go all motor i could get it up to 300 to the wheels but i dont know if i should do that or go to turbo and get like 400 whp. it will be a daily driver. Id rather go all motor cuz im pretty sure 300 from a crx could smoke just about anything. But id just like to hear some outside opinions. thanks

my buddys got 251 whp on a 4g civic hatch.. all hes got is pistons, rods, header, intake, clutch, cams, and aem ems.he may have a b18 though-not sure
11.0:1 pistons, skunk2 stage 3 cams, ported and polished head, header, exhaust, aem ems, all high flow fuel parts. you dont think i could get 300?

not with 1.6L displacement.
import tuner had a Ultimate B-series shootout
http://www.importtuner.com/bseriesshootout/0412it_bseries07/
the were able to squeeze out 283hp out of a 2.0L spending about 10 000$
the other got 260ish.
unfortunatly you need the displacment to get the HP and the 1.6 just can't do it unless you rev the thing to 15k rpm.
this is comming from someone who spent the money to built a B16.
11.0:1 pistons (I have 11.3:1), skunk2 stage 3 cams (SK2 St2 here), ported and polished head (done), header(done), exhaust(done), aem ems(custom chip and wideband tuned, but no standalone), all high flow fuel parts (done)
but was built for a 100shot of Nitrous.

i know a guy with an all motor accord. h22. he built it completely and it runs i think it was 12's on slicks. its the fastest all motor accord in the us. it a four door daily driver to.

see that's what I was trying to say. the B16 does not have the displacement to be a 300hp N/A motor.

damn.. so turbos pretty much the only way to go without boring out the cylinders?
if i do decide to go turbo id get like 9.0 pistons and rods- do you think like 18-19 psi would be good or is that askin to much without sleeves? i havent read much stuff about sleeves so any info would help alot

Yea so 300hp seems like it is out of the picture. I am going to drop a late b16 in my 90 crx and I only pray that I can mod 220 to 250hp out of it.

if you keep the stock sleeves but swap the pistons you would be good for about 15psi of boost. 9.5:1cr, desent fuel managment, I/C and a Good turbo. and 300 hp should be easy to obtain at a reasonable ammount of boost.
in fact his would be a more cost effective solution rather than N/A.
My buddies at home have Built turbo D's that have about 4g (cnd) into them. and they are quick. my buddy running 6psi ran 13.3 (ithink) 1/4 and was having traction issues. this was in a EG chassi.
they took a JDM ZC Vtec motor, Bored .20 over, eagle rods, wiseco pistons, Crower turbo cam, crower valves prings, Custom SS manifold, .42/.60 T3 stage 3, HKS BOV, knock off wastegate, stage 3 Clutch, custom intercooler and Piping.
I'm sure I'm missing something but the overall price was rather cheap for the HP they are making, they can up the boost and it's capable of 400hp.
