Seeking 1991 carburetor for 2.5 litre gas Cherokee

Hi,

I'm living in Beijing, China, and own a 1991 Cherokee with the 2.5 litre gas engine. Unfortunately for me, I can't source a replacement carburetor in Beijing. Cherokee's are made in Beijing, but all the Chinese ones are fuel injected! I have one of the few US made cars.

Can anyone put me on to a supplier who will likely have a new carburetor? Also, if some-one can tell me the full carby spec, including OEM that would be really helpful. The stamped number on the side of the carby is 77088. My car engine number is 9101047. Chassis number is 9101288.

regards

Andy

All the US ones are fuel injected, too.

There has never been a carbie version of this engine in this chassis.

Both this engine design and the Cherokee started production in mid-1983 (as '84 models) with fuel injection.

Could you post a picture of the offending part?
You may be confusing a fuel injector throttle body for a carburetor. At a glance, they do look similar.

Also, perhaps you could tell us about the problem the Jeep is facing. Perhaps it can be repaired without replacement?
