87 bronco II, changing rear drive shafts

i got a 87 bronco II 4 x 4 with one of those rear drive shafts tha looks kind of like a cv joint. its going bad & having trouble finding one & was wondering how hard would it be to convert to a traditional drive shaft? ty in advance for any ideas

They should make them everyday. If you're up for it, getting an aluminum one would be the Bull's ....well, you know. (The theory is that the less you're driveshaft weighs, the less it will rob power. Also one without the telescoping parts would wear less easy.)

take your shaft out and turn it around, it may give you some extra life as you will be using the surface that is used mainly for deceleration and reverse. I have seen a regular u-joint shaft as a aftermarket part. You can get the cv style as a rebuilt unit too.
