Looks sweet, bro! I have always liked the white-with-red-trim look on our 4G's.

The only completely successful way that I have heard to paint the interior of a 4G is to scrub the area with an abrasive such as an SOS pad, ensure it is totally clean, sand it with water and 320-grit sandpaper, clean again with paint thinner, and finally use a vinyl spray paint to finish.

I have no personal experience with this, but have heard that this will produce an excellent finish that won't come off. Best of luck!

I am using Krylon Interior/Exterior paint. It's working really good!
i even took a screw driver and tried scratching the paint off, but it diddent even chip.

I took out the dash today, and GOD DAMN that is a BITCH to get out.
there are about 20 different pieces holding it on.

I'm hoping to paint the dash tomorrow pending on the weather.

The car SHOULD be painted with a 6 piece kit within the next 4-5months.

Black Widow Front, Invader Sides molded on, Z3 fenders, Extreme rear.
All the moldings are going to be shaved!!

i'll get some pics of the removed dash right now. so check back in a bit and i'll post them.

wow, remind me to never try to paint the entire dash, that looks like a bitch to get out.

Anyway, i got the center console trim (a/c radio) off my car, and need to know how to get the center vents off, I have done the side vents, and door handle moldings krylon grey.

That looks wicked dude. That dash sounds like a big ol' hassle. One question, how did you dye the fabric part of your door panel?

Melt:
I just painted my center console and vents (and other stuff). For me, the center vents were the easiest to remove... I think it was kind of loose. But if it's giving you a problem, I would recommend taking two coat-hangers, bending hooks in the end, stick them through the bottom louvre's in the vent, hooking them behind the vent, and then pulling the vent out with the coat-hangers...

Also, you said you got the bezel from around the AC/stereo removed? I was planning on doing that to paint it, but It's molded into the rest of the center console, isn't a seperate piece... As it was, I had to carefully mask around the bezel. It came out good though.

okay, i did the side vents, they ended up looking like shit, I bought new side vents off a friend who wrecked his 90 sedan and is parting it out. I am not going to try to do the vents again. Good thing i didnt do the centers cause he didnt still have em. I also did the plastic where the interior door handle/window control is, those look badass. I did my center bezel, but it looks kind of crappy, so i might take it out when I get around to it, sand it down and try again.

How i got the bezel out

There is a screw on the side near the bottom, Both sides.
Then there is a screw on the left side near the power mirror control. The other screw for the right side is inside the glove box, open it up and you should see it. After that you have to unplug the cig lighter.

Wait a minute, in reading your response, I think you already did what I described. Yeah, I masked off the stereo console bezel also.

So anyway, I will take some pix tommorow or so.

bought another center piece at the junkyard, am going to put that in. As far as the stock one, I will sand it and see if I can paint it good but will probably end up throwing it away

yeah, dont paint your interior unless you got spare parts on hand. Cost me $20 for a new center. I painted the other one white and it looks decent now, I will see if I can sell it on ebay.

With LOTS & LOTS of paint:D

The vinyl part of the pannels are soft to the touch, just like stock.
The fabric sections are hard as hell, I actually scratched my elbow when i brushed up against it.
and the plastic pieces carry the stock texture, with a rough sorta feel.

As for how i did it....well thats a long story....
After spending 2 days totaly taking every interior pannel out of the car, i cleaned and primed all the pieces. Then applied the paint.. Let that dry for 2 days, then started installing it all back...

Now the dash on the other hand....
It is a BITCH to get out, about 2 hours of searching for ALL the places it was attached (by: wires, screws, bolts, steering column.) i got it loose. Now the dash is alot heavier & alot harder to manuver out of the car as you think. You SHOULD have 2 people to take it out.
It only took me 1 day to paint, and let dry... NOW tomorrow, i'm going to try and the the sucker installed again.

WISH ME LUCK !!
