Speedo cable concern

Speedo cable broke a while back, just snapped a few inches away from the trans. Upon asking the local Toyota dealership for a new one, they asked me which piece I wanted. Is this cable a two-piece? They make a mistake? Does the cable couple together somewhere under the car? That'd be great if it did, save me the trouble of pulling the instrument cluster. Anyone know for sure? Thanx.
