alternator question 67 283

ok my problem is i have a 67 283 w/ 202 heads no bolt holes in them i also have high rise m/t valve covers and would like to have power steering tell me were the altenator is sposed to fit in here i need a special bracket ne 1 know were i can get this special bracket

you need the original alternator bracket for this. Let me look I may have one, no guarentee though.... It should go on the top left side if you are looking at the engine.

I had a 67 chevelle with a 283 and (while it was still factory) the alternator bolted onto the driver's side exhaust manifold with one long bolt through the bottom and had a thin, slotted bracket up top that bolted onto the front of the intake manifold. I've seen aftermarket brackets that use the front two header bolts to hold the bottom of the alternator but you'd still need the other long, thin bracket that bolts near the base of the waterneck.

i have that bracket it worked fine with the low rise valve covers and no power steering but i am putting on power steering and high rise m/t covers i looked at this 1 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4611970518&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT maybe it will work if you have 1 that would be great thanks
