Does anybody know where i can get a cold air kit for my 2006 4.8? I found several places that have them for the 05 models but not the 06. I am foaming at the mouth to get one and see if it will help on bottom end performance. Truck is very dissapointing untill it gets over 3000 rpms in low.

Not going to any good. Don't watse your money. Whats under the hood right now is way more of a cold air intake than what you could ever buy from the aftermarket.Best bet would be something like a westers tune. That's probably the best bang for your buck.

I think the "cold air" up there in Canada has gone to your head. I've heard nothing but raves about the K&N. I'm putting one on my truck next weekend.

I'm just putting in muy input from experience, I put a K&N cold air kit on mine. Didn't make one bit of difference other than a whole bunch of noise. I ended up taking it back off and went with the westers tune. Now there was a noticeable difference.

What exactly is a westers tune? Is it like the nelson tune everyone mentions on here? I have heard too many good experiences with the k&n not to atleast give it a try, but thatnks for your input tykrz.

No prob, go for it, it's your nickle after all,
Here's the link to Westers: They reprogram your PCM for performance.
Like someone here once said there's the original stock GM "granny tune" and then there's the "westers tune"
Check them out,
