have an 05. 4.4 X5 that has a shifting issue when coming to a stop, if you don't actually come to a complete stop, then step on the gas, if sometimes engages so hard, you actually feel like you were just rear ended. BMW dealer so far "can't dupicate the problem". In another forum I read where some others had exact same problem. I had a '01 A6 that did the same thing and eventually got a computer tweak from Germany to fix, however nothing from BMW far. Anyone have any luck fixing this yet?

my 04 X5 4.4i had the same problem. my dealer (niello in sacramento ca) knew about it and provided a "software update" under warranty. the problem is 99% resolved but there is still a subtle delay/clunk rarely, but much less severe. hope this helps
