Looking very good. In my opinion Hasegawa gravel Focus WRC 99 is better then Tamiya Monte car. This fluorescent orange areas are decals or paiting (I think decals :) )? Great job.

The Orange areas are painted with Tamiya MS-9 Fluorescent Orange spray can.The decals are too difficult to apply to all the curves. The paint gave a much better result.Steve.

Another great build Steve
What's next.
I don't know what to build next? I am struggling for the motivation at the moment.I have plenty of kits I want to do but keep finding reasons to not build them! The list includes(all 1/24th scale):Lancia Delta S4,Toyota Celica ST165 (Studio 27 Transkit),Subaru 2004 Japan,Escort Cosworth (Michelin Pilot version),Escort Cosworth (Works version),Subaru Legacy(1991 RAC Rally),a couple more Celicas (St185's),an Alpine A110 and a Lancer Evo V.
I've done a few stressful ones of late (Audi Quattro S1 and Peugeot 205) so I want something simple and preferably out of the box,but it never seems to pan out that way.I should stop buying so many kits and start building some of the ones I already have, but I suppose we are all guilty of that. It's the model companies fault for giving us too much choice!!!:banghead:
If anybody has any thoughts on any of the above kits they would like to see built let me know.It might spur me on to do one of them.
Regards Steve.

Love it! :) Super sharp build and the flurescent red is brilliant. I'm trying to remember if Colin rolled on the RAC that year. Guess he probably did.

99 is when McRae crashed during the night stages, turns out he crashed ontop of another competitor's car which had been left after an earlier incident. It was his second major DNF in two rallies after his huge Rally Australia accident (which while it did not injure McRae is still considered by him to be the biggest accident of his career)

Oh yes I remember Australia crash !! :22yikes:
Car turned the bad sens on a fast jump and fly directly against a tree !! just like that => :banghead:
But on my opinion the one that most impressed me is his accident when he went out of the road jumping in a corsica ravine in 2000 after hitting the inside of a corner...!
I lived it on a giant screen in the Paris Auto World Show... everyone in front of the screen had the same frightened whisper at the same second !
(it was on onbaord image... Brrrr)
but colin is a specialist ! he didn't get "mc crash" name for nothing...!

Beautiful build Steve.
I have the exact same kit sitting on my desk to build as the Aust car before tree (or after tree if I stuff up). I had been thinking of using the Tamiya TS36 Fluro red, however the orange looks a good match. Go the Vatanen Legacy.
